Skies

"Tony’s art has moved away from the figurative here and the emphasis on solidity towards something that seems at first less substantial. But at the same time as catching the skies he has somehow avoided fixing them. One thing I notice about this sky series is that the paintings seem to be forever moving. The more I look at them the more levels I see, and as I move about the room they seem to actually change. Remarkably, he has captured the sky’s quality of forever being in a state of flux."
